FlatHQ is live — welcome to the beta

After months of building, FlatHQ is officially open to the public. Here's what you get on day one, and where we're headed next.

We built FlatHQ because shared living is genuinely hard to manage — not because the people are difficult, but because the admin is. Bills get forgotten. Chores go undone. Deposits get disputed. Spreadsheets get abandoned. WhatsApp threads become unusable.

FlatHQ is our answer to all of that.

What's available right now

From day one you get the full suite: split bills with custom or equal shares, chores with auto-rotation, a shared calendar with RSVPs, a live shopping list, a document vault for your lease and certs, and a noticeboard with @mentions.

We've also shipped some features we're particularly proud of:

Maintenance tracking lets you log repairs with photos, set priority levels, and email your landlord directly from the app — with the assigned housemate's address as the Reply-To so the landlord knows exactly who to call back.

Move-in/move-out checklists give you a structured, evidence-based process for both ends of a tenancy. Pre-filled defaults, photo uploads per item, deposit tracking, and a side-by-side room comparison view for when the landlord tries to charge you for a scratch that was already there.

Analytics show you the full financial picture — who's contributed what, where the money goes, and live balances so you always know where you stand.

It's free, and it'll stay affordable

We're in beta, which means everything is free right now. We're committed to keeping FlatHQ affordable when paid plans arrive — this isn't a product that should cost more than a round of drinks a month.

What's coming next

Stripe payments are already wired up for houses that want them. We're working on recurring bill templates, improved notifications, and a few things we're not ready to talk about yet.

Sign up, create your house, and share the invite code with your housemates. If something's broken or missing, hit Get Help on the dashboard — we read every message.
